Tucked into the rolling hinterland of the Mornington Peninsula, Mock Red Hill is a living piece of local history, a fifth‑generation, family‑owned apple orchard that’s been growing, pressing and pouring for more than a century. Certified Demeter biodynamic since 1974, the Mock family has long championed organic farming, producing fresh fruit, cold‑pressed juices, craft ciders, apple cider vinegar (with the mother) and freeze‑dried fruit since the early ’90s.
Today, visitors can wander the orchard, taste their award‑winning ciders, and settle into one of the Peninsula’s most charming farmgate experiences.
A Farmgate Steeped in History
Nestled roadside among 50‑year‑old apple trees, you’ll find their beautifully restored 1945 cool store, now home to the Farm‑gate Store and Cider Lounge. What was once a wooden apple shed stacked with crates has been transformed into a warm, light‑filled space perfect for tastings, long chats and slow moments.
In winter, guests cosy up by the woodfire with house‑made spiced cider and a slice of apple pie. In summer, the vine‑covered courtyard becomes a dog‑friendly alfresco haven — bright, breezy and ideal for sipping apple‑themed cocktails under the sun.
Taste the Orchard
Mock Red Hill’s craft cider range is crisp, refreshing and deeply tied to the orchard itself. Favourites include: Classic Apple Cider, Pink Lady Cider, Green Apple Cider & Royal Apple Cider.
Cocktail lovers will find the Tres Cítricos Apple Mojito; a house favourite made with Mock apple juice, fresh mint and lime. It’s the kind of drink that turns you into everyone’s favourite friend when you make it at home.
Driving? Their non‑alcoholic tasting flight is a standout: sparkling apple juice paired with freeze‑dried apples, banana, and chocolate‑coated strawberries.
And no visit is complete without dessert. Whether you choose the Apple Pie or Apple Crumble, it’s pure apple heaven.
